The Need

Pharma eMarket, LLC was interested in establishing a single marketplace on the Internet for outsourcing clinical research services in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry. Their idea was to develop a portal site called monitorforhire.com and establish an aggregate presence for buyers of clinical research services. They needed to quickly and efficiently search the marketplace for independent clinical monitors with available time for outsource tasks.

The Solution

After spending 4 weeks with the client developing the technical specifications, Brookwood programmers and designers set out to build the web application. Within 6 weeks, clinical monitors were able to log into the system and register their profile. Significant features of the system include: secure login, embedded project management, ability for monitors to view projects anonymously, and public and private forums to enhance communication between parties. An integrated email system, calendar and invoicing tools were also added. Brookwood employed technologies such as Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Secure socket layer, and DHTML to complete this project.
