The Need
Peirce-Phelps is one of the nation’s largest independent distributors of HVAC products including equipment, parts and supplies for both residential and commercial markets. In addition, they are a full service distributor of hearth and fireplace, outdoor patio, kitchen and bath products. Peirce-Phelps had 3 differently branded sites they were looking to consolidate into a single site, with a uniform look and feel, that would increase customer satisfaction and provide access to important information 24/7. This change would reduce maintenance and hosting costs and provide a more effective tool for its customers and dealers by improving site navigation and the admin system. The ideal Peirce-Phelps site would provide product information to the consumer in a compelling format and include a portal for dealers and contractors to conveniently access reports, training, manage accounts and maintain their profile. The new site also needed to connect home owners to local product dealers and empower dealers to manage the online ordering process, thus removing administration burden from Peirce-Phelps. The Solution
Brookwood designed the new site around the ideas and needs of Peirce-Phelps so that the finished product reflected their organization, image and purpose. The result was a consolidated web site with a professional design, easy to use navigation, and an automated system of up to date information on Peirce products. An easy to use dealer search, integrated with Google maps, helps customers find local dealers and print directions. Dynamic areas of the site and dealer accounts can be updated by a Peirce administrator with additions and changes appearing automatically, in real time. The enhanced, password protected dealer portal allows dealers to view reports, order products, manage their profile, and create new accounts. Permission based architecture allows dealers and contractors to view customized information, reports and training courses. The automated training registration allows dealers to enroll in multiple classes or enroll multiple employees at a time, with registrations databased for future analysis. The custom designed site surpassed Peirce-Phelps’ goals and expectations, on-time and within budget, allowing them to better serve their customers and reduce costs.
